Follow these tips to prepare perfectly cooked mushrooms. Enjoy mushrooms on their own or add to recipes.

How to Blend Mushrooms and Meat

The Blend can be used in all of your favorite recipes: burgers, tacos, meatloaf, lasagna, pasta sauce, meatballs and more!

  1. Chop your mushrooms to the consistency of ground meat. Tip: Use a food processor to chop the mushrooms faster. Briefly pulse just 4-5 times to a finely chopped, crumbly consistency.
  2. Blend the chopped mushrooms with ground meat.
  3. Cook your blend as usual to complete the recipe.

How to Grill or Broil Mushrooms

Grilling or broiling is preferable for larger capped mushrooms, like portabellas and shiitakes.

  1. Lightly brush caps and stems with oil to keep them moist, then season.
  2. Grill or broil 4 to 6 inches from heat source for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, brushing once or twice to keep from drying out.
  3. Try brushing with your favorite dressing or sauce instead of oil.

How to Microwave Mushrooms

Microwaving mushrooms is a quick and easy way to cook your favorite fungi.

  1. Place thickly sliced mushrooms in a microwaveable bowl, no oil or butter needed.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring once.

How to Roast Mushrooms

Roasting mushrooms is a delicious way to bring out indulgent flavors.

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Brush mushrooms with oil* and place on a shallow baking pan in oven, stirring occasionally until brown, about 20 minutes.

*Use about 1 tablespoon of oil for each 8 ounces of mushrooms.

How to Sauté Mushrooms

Sautéing is an easy way to cook whole, sliced, chopped or halved mushrooms.

  1. Brush pan with oil or butter and heat on high.
  2. Add a single layer of mushrooms; don’t stir, turn once when mushrooms become brown on one side.
  3. Flip and repeat on the other side, remove from heat and season to taste.
